Step into Scotland's past, one pub at a time, with Historic Pub Crawls Through Scotland.

What started as a birthday pub crawl across London's historic alehouses quickly turned into something much bigger. Author and pub enthusiast Thomas J. Vosper turned his routes into Historic Pub Crawls Through London I and II. The books took off, leading to popular editions covering England, Ireland and New York - and now, Scotland.

This book brings together 11 guided walking routes through some of Scotland's most atmospheric cities, including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Each walk strings together a carefully chosen selection of historic pubs, weaving past famous landmarks and hidden corners, and sharing stories that are sometimes fascinating, sometimes irreverent, and always entertaining.

Whether you're into a well-kept ale, a dram of Scotch, or simply enjoy soaking up the history that gathers around Scotland's drinking holes, these crawls are designed to be enjoyed at your own pace. Every route starts and finishes near a main train station, with clear directions and full pub details included to keep things simple.

Perfect for visitors, locals and anyone who enjoys a good pint, Historic Pub Crawls Through Scotland invites you to discover Scotland through its pubs, past and present.

Thomas has been running a pub crawl for his birthday almost every year since his mid-twenties. In the summer of 2023 he compiled and self-published 13 routes into the first book in a series of titles covering Historic Pub Crawls.

His elevation to social media sensation is something of a change after spending over two decades in technology corporates and startups. As well as visiting, filming and writing about pubs he plays guitar and piano, likes tattoos and wears crazy trousers and yellow shoes. He was raised in North West London, where he still lives, with easy access to the city pubs.
