The perfect companion to The Arrival, this is a spectacular new book about home and belonging from the internationally renowned artist Shaun Tan.

"When it comes to originality and genius, Tan is in a league of his own." The Irish Independent

Gravity keeps me here. Or love, which is kind of the same thing.

A girl lives with her family, friends and neighbours in her hometown. Every so often, she can't help wondering if there might be more out there for her. But life is good.

When a strange human boy lands in her hometown and insists she return to her "real home" with him, the girl must make a choice. Where does she truly belong?

A beautifully illustrated, thoughtful and funny story about finding your place in the world.

Shaun Tan grew up in Perth and works as an artist, writer and filmmaker in Melbourne, best known for illustrated books that deal with social, political and historical subjects through dreamlike imagery. The Rabbits, The Red Tree, Tales from Outer Suburbia and the graphic novel The Arrival have been widely translated throughout the world and enjoyed by readers of all ages. Shaun has also worked as a theatre designer, a concept artist for Pixar and won an Academy Award for the short animated film The Lost Thing. In 2011 he received the prestigious Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in Sweden, in recognition of his services to literature for young people. His most recent books include The Singing Bones, Creature and Tales from the Inner City, which won the 2020 CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal.
