This is the world now... it's ugly and painful and savage. But you'll grow stronger. I'll help you grow stronger.

Teenagers Ruby and Kyla spend their evenings hanging at Cheney’s chicken shop dreaming of moving to Vegas and going viral. A chance encounter with older, cooler Sadie, means their dreams of pool parties and showering in dollars could become a reality… but at what price?

Rebecca Jade Hammond’s ferocious, witty and unsettling play Hot Chicks is contemporary Welsh theatre at its sharpest.

This edition was published to coincide with the world premiere production in March 2025, co-produced by Grand Ambition and Sherman Theatre.

Rebecca Jade Hammond is the Artistic Director of Chippy Lane Productions. Her commitment and dedication to the championing of the Welsh and Wales-based voices has been met with open arms from fellow creatives. Her position and perspective as a Welsh company operating outside of Wales developing work across both Wales and England, bridging the gap between two countries has led to interest from arts media (What’s On Stage, GetTheChanceWales, Arts Scene in Wales, Western Mail). Rebecca was also recognised as a ‘100 Women of Wales’ 2018 by Wales Arts Review, which highlights women who are ones to watch, and inspiring the arts in Wales.
