Glamour isn't just about having the right handbag - it's about having the right personality too and many of the world's most adorable women have been gorgeous inside as well as out. A glamorous woman has a magnetism few men can resist, yet all of us can attain it - even those without classically natural beauty. How to be Adored is a style guide with a difference, featuring secrets and advice from a roll call of history's most seductive women, including Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Jackie O, Debbie Harry, Gwyneth Paltrow, Princess Diana, Kate Moss, Gwen Stefani and Carla Bruni. In their own words they reveal how to achieve glamour and how to be adored by all you encounter. Professor of Fashion, Caroline Cox, fills every page with witty observations and entertaining anecdotes. With masses of primary research you will be instantly drawn in by the juicy revelations about Hollywood stars past and present. How to be Adored is packed with useful information and advice, supported by wise words from those that really know.
Professor Caroline Cox is an international authority on fashion history. Originally trained as an art historian, she moved into fashion theory and history, soon becoming known as an inspiring lecturer and educator as Head of Cultural Studies at the London College of Fashion. As a result of her encyclopaedic knowledge of fashion trends and their origins Caroline was headhunted by Vidal Sassoon International to lecture at the 'Harvard of Hairdressing', Vidal Sassoon's Advanced Academy in Grosvenor Street, London. She remains there as International Trends Consultant, helping dictate the trends in hair we see around us today - including David Beckham's 'fin'. For her outstanding contribution to Cultural History, Caroline was awarded an Honorary Professorship at the University of Arts, London, at the same time as Sir Terence Conran and Ralph Steadman. She is frequently called on for her opinions on fashion trends and lectures throughout the world. Caroline has written several books, including Lingerie: A Lexicon of Style , Stiletto and Grown-up Glamour (also for Quadrille). She broadcasts regularly on fashion and beauty culture for the BBC and as a cultural commentator on fashion trends; she has appeared on radio and TV shows in Europe, America and Australia.
