‘The monk who taught the world mindfulness' Time

What do we want to do with our one precious life? What is our deepest desire?

In How to Dream, world-renowned Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh explains how to let our deep desire nourish us and, in turn, how to keep that desire alive. If our aspiration is lost or depleted, we must rekindle it.

With inspiring illustrations throughout, this pocket-sized book explains how to:
• Get in touch with our deepest dream
• Live our dream in every moment of daily life
• Keep our dream alive with the help of a community
• Protect our dream from the dampening effects of our fast-paced modern life
• Direct energy towards lasting personal, social and political change

With Nhat Hanh’s timeless wisdom, humour and compassion, How to Dream explores how, whatever our role in society, we can live into our deep aspiration and change the direction of civilisation.

Born in Hue, Vietnam, Thich Nhat Hanh was a Buddhist Zen Master, poet, scholar and human rights activist. In 1967, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King. He founded the Van Hanh Buddhist University in Saigon, the School of Youth and Social Service and the Plum Village Buddhist community and meditation centre in France, where he lived for many years. He was the author of many acclaimed books including The Miracle of Mindfulness, Old Path White Clouds and Fear, which have sold millions of copies around the world. In 2018, he returned to Vietnam to live at the Tu Hieu Temple, where he was first ordained when he was sixteen years old. He died on 22 January 2022, at the age of 95.
