Humbert & Poyet are celebrated for their varied design vocabulary, restrained and always elegant, yet audacious in its unexpected combinations. Drawing freely from neoclassical references, mid-century modern forms or Italian design from the 1970s, their interiors are in a class of their own, intriguing by virtue of an ineffable touch and a constant tension between restraint and richness. In this volume, meticulously composed photography captures the studio s bold, assertive, and expressive style in a selection of their most compelling international projects. Among the standout projects highlighted are the spectacular Villa Pineda on the French Riviera, Milan s acclaimed Beefbar, located within the restored chapel of a seventeenth-century seminary, and Josun Palace Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Seoul. The studio s residential portfolio is represented through thoughtfully crafted apartments in New York s Tribeca district and in Paris s Tuileries and Marais neighborhoods; a chalet in the Engadin Valley, one of Switzerland s most exclusive Alpine regions; and a seaside villa in Monaco, shown here for the first time.
French Monegasque duo Emil Humbert and Christophe Poyet founded their eponymous studio in 2008, specializing in ultra-luxury residential and hospitality projects. Their interiors have notably been published by Architectural Digest and Elle Decor worldwide. Gay Gassmann is a communication and special art projects consultant, writer, and contributing editor for Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Vogue Arabia and Vogue Arabia Living, Architectural Digest China, Galerie, The World of Interiors, and The Architect s Newspaper.
