The charming non-fiction book is a gentle first introduction to 'growth mindsets'.

It explores topics such as why mistakes are good for our brain, resilience, curiosity and overcoming fears. The book promotes a caring attitude, confidence and self-esteem.

It is part of a series 'I care about' for children aged 4+. The titles are: My Friends, My Planet, Animals, My Family, My Growing Brain, My Body. The illustrations by Michael Buxton are quirky and fun and are designed to inspire a child's imagination.

Liz Lennon is a writer who specialises in children's non-fiction. She lives in Hertfordshire with her husband and young daughter, who is the best critic of her mum's work. Michael Buxton is a designer and illustrator with a wide portfolio including greetings cards, homeware and children's books. He produces quirky, fun designs with an emphasis on humour and while his work is mainly digital, he likes to keep a loose, hand-drawn feel. Michael loves to create characters and will take any chance he gets to draw monsters, cats or monster cats.
