This fully illustrated book profiles and celebrates the greatest motocross riders competing in the US.

The Immortals of US Motocross celebrates the greatest motocross riders from the U.S. and their contributions to the thrilling sport. It takes the Immortals concept, which is famous elsewhere in the sporting world, and applies it to off-road racing . Award-winning motorcycle journalist and historian Larry Lawrence selects his top motocross Immortals and shares the remarkable stories of both pioneering and contemporary riders. Each athlete is profiled in a dedicated chapter, which includes career statistics and multiple action images. Additionally, there is a chapter for honorable mentions featuring riders who narrowly missed being recognised as Immortals, and list of all-time AMA National Motocross Champions.
AUTHOR LIVES IN INDIANAPOLIS. Larry Lawrence is a distinguished motorcycle journalist, historian, and author whose career has left an indelible mark on motorcycle racing. Beginning his journey in the 1980s, Lawrence cut his teeth covering races for Cycle News and American Roadracing, quickly establishing himself as a knowledgeable and passionate voice in the sport. His career reached new heights in the mid-1990s when he became the communications manager for AMA Pro Racing, a role he held until the late 2000s. During this time, Lawrence played a pivotal role in elevating the profile of motorcycle racing through strategic press outreach, earning him the prestigious MVP Award from the AMA for his contributions to the sport.

For 15 years, Lawrence wrote a popular column for Cycle News, where he explored the rich history of motorcycle racing, uncovering the stories of legendary riders, iconic motorcycles, and unforgettable races. His deep research and engaging storytelling earned him widespread acclaim, culminating in his 2020 induction into the Hot Shoe Hall of Fame. Lawrence's expertise extends to authorship, having served as a contributing editor to Motocross America and penned a book on AMA Superbike, World Superbike Champion, and MotoGP winner Ben Spies titled Ben Spies: Taking It to the Next Level. Today, Lawrence continues his passion for preserving racing history through his website, RiderFiles.com, where he archives and shares decades of racing photography from hundreds of photographers.
