ICLI is an annual International Conference on Learning Innovation (ICLI) hosted byUniversitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Indonesian Consortium for Learning Innovation Research (ICLIR) as well as Univerisiti Teknologi MARA Cawangan Perlis, Malaysia serving as co-organizer this year. The conference aims to gather researchers, practitioners, students, experts, consultants, teachers and lecturers to share their insights and experiences on research not only in constructing innovations in learning but also the knowledge of learner’s capability. The learners who are characterized as creative and competent by having the ability to understand what they have learned and capable of taking initiative and thinking critically. In addition, ICLI is organized on the basis of the trend in the 21st century, categorized by the increasing complexity of technology and the emergence of a corporate restructuring movement.

This book is the proceeding of ICLI 2021, containing a selection of articles presented at this conference as the output of the activity. Various topics around education are covered in this book and some literature studies around specific topics on learning and education are covered as well. This proceeding book will be beneficial to students, scholars, and practitioners who have a deep concern in education. It is also futuristic with a lot of practical insights for students, faculty, and practitioners, and also a description of the Indonesian educational system in today’s era.

Surjani Wonorahardjo completed her PhD in Chemistry from the School of Chemistry, The University of New South Wales, Australia. As a Humboldt fellow, she worked on NMR methods to describe mobility of small molecules inside porous media, at the School of Physics, University of Ulm, Germany. After returning to The State University of Malang, Indonesia she teaches analytical chemistry courses and science as well as doing research in biomaterials, chemistry methods development and separation science and also chemistry education. Her publications so far cover silica biomaterials, chromatography and spectroscopy methods for some areas of application, especially agriculture, environment, and some chemistry and science education topics. Besides three text books in fundamentals of science and analytical chemistry, she has four Indonesian Patents granted around biomaterials and their applications. Currently she is the Editor in Chief of Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran (JPP), Jurnal Cis-Trans (JCT), Journal of Disruptive Learning Innovation (JODLI), Jurnal Pendidikan Sains (JPS) and some other journals from some universities. She also reviews some articles in good journals in the field.
Sari Karmina is a faculty member at the Department of English, Faculty of Letters, Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia. She received her PhD in Education from The University of Auckland, New Zealand. She is a pre-service and in-service trainer. Her research interests are in the area of teacher professional development, socio constructivism, teaching English for young learners, teaching English as a foreign language, and educational technologies. She is currently an editor of two emerging journals in the faculty: JoLLA and J-ELLIT.
Habiddin Habiddin is a lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, Universitas Negeri Malang. He finished his PhD in Chemistry education at The University of Reading, United Kingdom. His research interests are uncovering students’ conception using multi-tier instruments and employing these conceptions to design a proper chemistry teaching; and Interactive instruction to promote conceptual change, HOTS and chemical literacy. His works have been published in several journals, including the International Journal of Science and Mathematics Education, Macedonia Journal of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Acta Chimica Slovenica (ACSi), Indonesian Journal of Chemistry, Education Quimica and others. Currently, Habiddin is Editor in Chief of Jurnal Pembelajaran Kimia (J-PEK) and Journal of Disruptive Learning Innovation (JODLI).
