Delving into the minds of rocket scientists, sports coaches, military strategists, and industry leaders, this book uncovers how innovation thrives through human connections. It examines organisational innovation through cross-sector case studies, drawing on the lived experiences of those operating on the front line of high-performance environments.
The book explores the processes, practices, and methods that drive innovation in high-performance organisations. Offering in-depth case studies of innovation in sectors including professional sport, performing arts, humanitarian relief, government, esports, military operations, and aerospace, the book examines both cutting-edge technology and human-centric approaches, as well as the networks of collaboration that foster connectivity and fuel transformative breakthroughs. In a world where high-performance, innovation, and emerging technologies dominate, Innovation in Sport reminds us that the true essence of organisational innovation begins with human connection and the intangible, invisible webs that are interwoven between each of us.
For practitioners, students, and researchers alike, this book offers a powerful invitation to actively engage with innovation, providing a fresh perspective on both sport management practice and innovation research within sport.
