This volume presents the epigraphical finds made at al-Hiba-Lagash in the first two seasons of the excavations conducted jointly by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and The Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. With the exception of No. 3, an inscription of Enannatum I on an unbaked clay tablet (the actual text of which was to be inscribed on a votive object), the "royal" inscriptions were all inscribed on stone, copper, or baked clay.
