Every summer, a child and their parents leave behind the roads and houses. And with backpacks full of food and sleeping bags, they go into the wilderness.

Haven Iverson holds an MFA from the University of Texas, Austin where she was a James A Micherner fellow in writing. She lives and writes in Boulder, Colorado but spends a few weeks a year living in her tent in the wilderness areas and National Forest near her home. Haven is also the author of Slow Down, Tumbleweed, about a wild child weed who rambles through the desert Southwest. August Zhang is a first generation Chinese-Canadian illustrator based in Calgary, Alberta. Growing up, they discovered art as a reliable emotional outlet and continue to leverage that to this day.
