A delightful collection of stories about Jamie and his toy highland bull from the former Children's Laureate, charmingly illustrated by celebrated artist Sam Usher.
As best friends should, Jamie and Angus share everything. Join them as they have fun at their birthday party, think up some new ways to cry, and deal with a naughty pet gerbil! These playful stories are full of charming and amusing incidents from everyday life – like when Uncle Edward delivers Jamie's birthday present of a box full of party poppers (to Mum and Dad's delight!), or when Jamie gets over his frustrating day with a very messy session of bashing clay! Both parent and child will love reading and rereading this heart-warming collection of gentle, funny stories from a treasured author, which are brought to entertaining life by Sam Usher's wonderful illustrations.

Anne Fine has won the Smarties Book Prize, the Guardian Children's Fiction Award and the Carnegie Medal (twice), and has twice been voted Children's Author of the Year. In 2001, she became Children's Laureate, and in 2003, she was awarded an OBE. Her books include Jamie and Angus, Jamie and Angus Together, Jamie and Angus Forever, The Haunting of Pip Parker, Care of Henry, Nag Club, Under a Silver Moon and The Only Child Club. For older readers she is the author of Flour Babies, The Tulip Touch and Madame Doubtfire, which was made into the hugely successful film Mrs Doubtfire, and she also writes for adults.
Sam Usher is the celebrated author-illustrator of Snow, Rain, Sun and Storm. He has illustrated several titles including the Waterstones Book of the Month, Umbrella Mouse. He has also been been shortlisted for the Waterstones Prize, the Red House Children’s Book Award and longlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal.
