Jet is a deep dive into the life and career of the many-time basketball champion Jason Terry. A prolific scoring guard and former NBA Sixth Man of the Year, he won two state titles in high school in Seattle, a college title at the University of Arizona, and an NBA title with Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. Indeed, Terry is a winner and, in these pages, he shares how he was able to have so much success throughout his career.
Written with acclaimed writer Jake Uitti and featuring forewords from Dirk and Jason Kidd, Jet is not just a book for NBA fans, but for anyone looking to find out how to be better, do more, and learn at the next level.
Opening with his famous tattoo—the Tattoo Heard ’Round The World—which predicted the 2011 NBA title, one of the most surprising and impressive championship runs in the history of the league. Throughout theses pages, Terry discusses the key moments from his life and career, from the love and support his single mother showed him growing up to the lessons he learned from Mike Bibby and Miles Simon in college to the side-splitting, revelrous times in Dallas en route to history.
But an NBA career is more than just wins. It’s about navigating the highs and lows. It’s about forging relationships and taking chances on yourself. It’s these micro-moments that stack up to make a life . . . and Terry has led quite a life. After leaving Dallas, he played for several big-name franchises, including the Boston Celtics, and came close to winning yet more hardware with the likes of James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Now an NBA assistant coach, he is embarking on his next challenge—to win a ring as a coach.

Jason Eugene Terry (aka JET) was an essential figure on the 2011 NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks. Paired with Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki, Terry made key basket after key basket in the playoffs, helping to lead the Dallas franchise to its first-ever title. But Terry is no stranger to winning. Born in Seattle, Washington, the prolific scoring guard won two state championships with Franklin High School in the early '90s. Then he won another ring in college at the University of Arizona in 1996. The 2009 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Jason today is a lead assistant coach with the Utah Jazz, a franchise he is trying to help bring back to the limelight. Known for his signature headband and his knack for big moments on the court, Jason is one of the key figures of the twenty-first century NBA.

A Seattle-based writer, Jake has loved and followed the NBA since the early nineties. Once humorously dubbed "the best under six-foot center in the country," his playing career didn't last past his high school days, but that's when writing took over. The co-author of Muggsy, Earl the Twirl, Banned, and Killer Crossover, Jet is his fifth NBA memoir. Uitti resides in Seattle, Washington, with his beautiful and brilliant wife Eva.
