When singer, musician, and broadcast journalist Malka Marom was asked to interview Joni Mitchell in 1973, she eagerly accepted the opportunity to converse with the performer she'd first met late one night in 1966 at an open mic in Yorkville.

Malka Marom is a writer and musician from Canada. During the '60s, she performed as part of Malka and Joso - a folk duo who recorded several albums for Capitol Records.
Marom has also produced radio documentaries for CBC.
Her novel 'Sulha' was released in 1990, with 'Joni Mitchell: Both Sides Now' - a book made up of her conversations with the world-renowned singer being released in 2014.
