Insightful Lectionary for Year C.
Second in the series after the success of Journeying with Mark, this book gives fresh insight on Luke's Gospel as it is read and preached within the Church.
Explore the Gospel of Luke in the lectionary year C. Giving background information allows the reader to get a good grip on a greater understanding, prayer and action inspired by the life and works of Jesus.
Journeying with Luke pays special attention to the character of Luke and his writing - his use of story and song, and the importance of themes such as travel, mission and the outsider, and the relationship between the Gospel and the Book of Acts.
With a blend of imagination, scholarship and pastoral wisdom, it will inspire worship and everyday discipleship throughout the Christian year.
James Woodward is a Canon of Windsor, and the general editor of the book. He has written extensively in the area of pastoral and practical theology. Her publications include Searching for Meaning (SPCK 2008) and Heaven (SPCK 2011). The Reverend Mark Pryce is Bishop's Adviser for Clergy Continuing Ministerial Development in the Diocese of Birmingham.
