About John Wagner

John Wagner has been scripting for 2000 AD for more years than he cares to remember. His creations include Judge Dredd Strontium Dog Ace Trucking Al's Baby Button Man and Mean Machine. Outside of 2000 AD his credits include Star Wars Lobo The Punisher and the critically acclaimed A History of Violence. Garth Ennis first came to prominence as writer on Troubled Souls the Northern Ireland-set series he created with John McCrea for Crisis. As co-creator of Judge Dredd Carlos Ezquerra designed the classic original costume as well as visually conceptualising Mega-City One. He also co-created Strontium Dog. Ian Gibson is responsible for the co-creation of The Ballad of Halo Jones (with Alan Moore) the hugely popular Robo-Hunter (with John Wagner and Alan Grant) and created Bella Bagley an unfortunate character in Judge Dredd's world who fell head-over-heels in love with 'Old Stoney Face' himself! Steve Dillon is a fan-favourite 2000 AD writer and artist and the creator of both Hap Hazzard and the Irish Judge Joyce who appears in several Judge Dredd stories. Dean Ormston's otherworldly pencils first graced the Judge Dredd Megazine where he contributed to the epic Judgement Day saga and pencilled the popular Raptaur. Peter Doherty is primarily known to fans of the Galaxy's Greatest Comic as artist of the Young Death series which opened the Judge Dredd Megazine's first volume but he has also contributed extensively to Judge Dredd working on the epic Judgment Day as well as many shorter stories. The stunning painted artwork of Greg Staples has been a cover fixture of 2000 AD for some years but Staples has also contributed interiors working on Brigand Doom The Clown Downlode Tales Judge Dredd Sinister Dexter Slaine Tales of Telguuth and Terror Tales. Sean Phillips has become one of the comics industry's most acclaimed artists and is fondly remembered by 2000 AD fans as the co-creator of Armitage and Devlin Waugh. Simon Coleby has worked extensively for 2000 AD provding the art for various strips including Rogue Trooper Judge Dredd Low Life and Sinister Dexter. Chris Halls (better known as Chris Cunningham) illustrated a few Judge Dredd strips before becoming the highly successful music video director responsible for Aphex Twin's Come to Daddy and Window Licker Bjork's All Is Full of Love and Madonna's Frozen. Yan Shimony has worked on both a Judge Dredd story and a Judge Hershey story for the Judge Dredd Megazine.
