Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was an English writer, poet and novelist, born in India. He was taken to England by his parents at the age of six, where he stayed at a foster house for five years. According to his stories, his childhood was an unhappy one. Kipling returned to India and worked as a journalist for several years.
