Käte Steinitz (1889–1975) is today best known for her collaboration with Kurt Schwitters. This monograph covers her multifaceted activities as an artist and writer in avant-garde circles during the Weimar Republic, as well as her experience as an emigrant, art historian and promoter of modernism in the United States.
Isabel Schulz has a doctorate in art history and since 1996 has been curator at the Sprengel Museum in Hannover, where she has led the Kurt Schwitters Archive since 2010.

Pauline Behrmann has been a research associate at the Sprengel Museum in Hannover since 2023 and is completing her doctorate in the department of art history at the University of Hamburg.
