With simple explanations, lovely illustrations, fun facts and top tips, kids will learn what to do, what to say, and how to make the most of this beautiful act of worship. From wearing ihram to walking around the Ka’aba, each step is explained so children can feel confident and excited about their own Umrah adventure.

Ayshah is a proud mother of two and a passionate new author with a love for storytelling that reflects her cultural roots and family values. Her debut children’s picture book, Too Soon for the Moon, takes us on a search for the moon heralding the start of Eid, capturing the excitement and anticipation children feel waiting for that special day to arrive. Inspired by her own experiences, Ayshah wants children to see themselves and their traditions reflected in the stories they read. When she’s not writing, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring nature, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen!

I’m Najla Abbas, a children’s book illustrator and visual storyteller from Indonesia. I’ve worked on a range of creative projects from picture books to animation and advertising illustrations. Storytelling has always been at the heart of what I do. Through my work, I love capturing the warmth, honesty, and endless imagination that define childhood. I’m a film and book enthusiast as well. I find so much inspiration in the way movies tell stories how light, colour, and emotion come together to create a world that feels alive. In every piece I create, I hope to build a space where children can feel seen, inspired, and free to dream without boundaries.
