A hug in a book! Fizzing with joy and fun, children will want to listen to this feel-good tale again and again.
Very hungry Lion meets a young gazelle stuck in a hole. Does he eat her? No! Phew! Instead, he helps her up and his act of kindness sets off a super-cute chain of joy and warmth to give the ultimate feel-good factor.
What happens to Lion? Well . . . you’ll have to read the story to find out. SPOILER ALERT – it’s a happy ending!
Children will love spotting the story clues and extra details that illustrator Siân Roberts has woven through the book. And they can have fun building a kindness tree with the tips at the back of the book to spread their own happiness.
Sital Gorasia Chapman left a career in banking, trained as a yoga instructor, and then started writing. She studied Writing for Children at the City Lit, and her picture book submission was commended at the FAB awards in 2019. She was recently commissioned to write a poem for the CBeebies children’s television series Colours, which is available on BBC iPlayer. Sital lives in London with her husband and three young daughters.
Siân Roberts studied illustration by the sea at the Arts University Bournemouth, graduating with a first class honours degree in 2018. She now works from her home studio in Surrey and, fuelled by endless cups of tea, she loves to create fun characters and worlds that are full of personality. Her picture books include The Twelve Green Days of Christmas, written by Barry Timms, Twinkle Twinkle LIttle Unicorn written by Anum Shah, and Don’t Disturb the Dragon written by Rhiannon Findlay.
