Interactive Whiteboards (IWBs) are becoming increasingly common in schools and early years settings, and it is important for trainees to be equipped with the necessary skills and understanding to use them effectively to enhance learning. This book takes a thematic approach, examining all the key issues required to get the most out of this versatile learning technology. All chapters contain case studies from a range of subject areas and across the key stages, ensuring the text is rooted in the reality of the primary classroom and its curriculum.
David is currently the e-learning Coordinator and teaching fellow at Bishop Grosseteste College and provides advice and training for college staff and students on the use of learning technologies. Active in a number of regional and national groups, he is interested in the promotion of ICT for teaching and research in all educational sectors. Linda Cooper is a lecturer in Education Studies at the University of Chichester. She has worked in education for sixteen years both as a primary school teacher and as a lecturer. Before commencing her post at Chichester, Linda also worked at Portsmouth University as a lecturer in Early Childhood Studies and at Bishop Grosseteste University College, Lincoln with the Initial Teacher Training team. She has a range of interests and has published in the field of technology, physical development and the humanities. Graham Meeson is a Senior Lecturer in Education Studies at Bishop Grosseteste College, Lincoln, and a former Deputy Head Teacher. He has worked on a variety of courses including ITT and Foundation degree programmes, focusing on the area of ICT. In the past he has acted in a consultancy capacity for his local LEA; he is currently a school governor and has been fascinated by the introduction of electronic whiteboards witnessed in this role, and whilst visiting students in schools.
