The author’s journeys include visiting 120 countries with his wife Vivian, meeting fascinating people along the way and climbing many figurative and literal mountains, including Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua in his 70s. Martyn Bould MBE has lived in the Cayman Islands since 1969. A highly successful entrepreneur, he is also a founding member for the Cayman National Cultural Foundation and the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands. He was honoured by
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2012 for services in preserving and developing Caymanian culture, and was honoured by the Cayman Islands Government in the 2025 Hero’s Day Awards as a Legacy Builder for laying the groundwork for future economic development since 1970. He is a director of the Bould Foundation which provides bursaries to young Caymanians to further their careers.
