A celebration of linocut’s most influential practitioners as well as the schools and workshops around the world that have championed and developed the printing technique as an art form.

Easier to work and cheaper than wood, linoleum has long enabled artists to create affordable and versatile colour prints. This beautifully illustrated book explores the origins of linocut and presents the pioneering figures who embraced and transformed the printmaking technique, from Claude Flight, Sybil Andrews, Edward Bawden and Cyril Power to modern and contemporary artists such as Leopoldo Méndez, Tayo Quaye and Grayson Perry, and many more.

An accessible and eye-catching introduction to the distinctive aesthetics of linocut, it will appeal to those with a love of modern and contemporary art as well as practising artists everywhere.
