Kevin Shannon was educated at St Edward's College and Liverpool University. Shannon spent ten years in the Army, serving in a number of regiments and taught history for many years in a secondary school. Over the years, he has spent his spare time racing and rallying cars; martial arts; instructing and competing in practical pistol shooting; and piloting light aircraft. Shannon is a long-term member of the urban search and rescue team, International Rescue Corps, and is currently their assistant operational director.
