One white and snowy night, a little Christmas tree stands alone in the forest. Everything is white and lifeless.
As the night goes on, there a signs of life. An orange fox, a red-breasted robin, a cloud of fireflies ... By the end of the book, the little christmas tree is transformed by nature.
Another glorious lift-the-flap exploration of nature from Big Picture Press in the same series as Little Tree and Little Honey Bee.
Ruth Symons is the author of several children's books, including A Year in the Wild, Christmas Lights, the Paper World series and the Sophie la girafe board books. When she's not writing and editing, Ruth loves gardening, hiking and hosting elaborate teddy bear tea parties with her young daughter. Jessica Courtney-Tickle is an illustrator who graduated from Kingston University in July 2014. She currently lives in Cambridgeshire surrounded by trees and lots of local wildlife. Coincidentally her absolute favourite thing to draw or paint is nature, finding a focus on foliage of any kind as well as children's stories about adventure and exploration. She also has a penchant for drawing the theatre from music makers to dancers and even singing animals.
Jessica is most influenced by vintage picture books, travel posters and folk art as well as numerous painters and printmakers. She uses a mixture of handpainted backgrounds and digital effects to give her work a heavily textured and decorative appeal that sparks with magic!
