Children’s literature legend Michael Morpurgo teams up with illustration star Sam Usher for a rollicking countryside adventure story, now in a Little Gems edition for more parents and children to share together.

The frogs always beat the toads at long jump but the toads don't mind – anything for a quiet life. But then the children and Mutt the dog come in search of some good jumpers, and the toads see an opportunity to get their own back. Soon the poor frogs have been gathered up and put in an ice-cream tub, and they're hopping mad! Particularly suitable for struggling, reluctant or dyslexic readers aged 5+

Michael Morpurgo OBE is one of the UK’s best-loved authors for children and young people. He was the third UK Children’s Laureate and he has won the Children’s Book Award, the Nestle Children’s Book Prize and the Blue Peter Book of the Year Award. There have been many stage and screen adaptations of his books, including a major film and award-winning stage play based on War Horse. Michael also set up the charity Farms for City Children with his wife Clare.

Sam Usher spent most of his childhood reading, drawing and forgetting to do school work. He still likes to spend his time playing around with ink, watercolour and washing-up liquid. If the opportunity arises, he loves to make a mess! Sam’s first book – Can You See Sassoon? – was longlisted for the Greenaway Medal.
