This is a newly available edition of G. H Doble's Lives of the Welsh Saints, which was edited by Professor D. Simon Evans in 1984. This volume contains his work on five Welsh Saints - Dubricius, Iltut, Paulinus, Teilo and Oudoceus.
D. Simon Evans (1921-98) was Honorary Director of the Centre for Research and Scholarship at St David's University College, Lampeter (1988-94). He was previously Professor of Welsh at University College, Dublin, Head of Celtic Studies at Liverpool University, and Professor of Welsh at St David's University College, Lampeter. His eminent scholarship on medieval Welsh literature produced numerous publications, including Gramadeg Cymraeg Canol (1951), Buched Dewi (1959), A Grammar of Middle Welsh (1964), Historia Gruffud vab Kenan (1977) and Medieval Religious Literature (1986). Gilbert Hunter Doble was an Anglican priest and Cornish historian and hagiographer.
