The incredible story of Philip K. Dick’s robotic resurrection – and the android’s utterly Dickian ‘escape’

“This compelling tale of androids, paranoid authors, and research into AI has… an ending that could have been written by Dick himself.” The Guardian

“This story is touching, absorbing, and, ultimately, an exploration of what it means to be human.” The Spectator

“An instant classic of weird science.” Alex Boese
David Dufty was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Memphis at the time the Philip K. Dick android was being developed; he was a confidant to the team of scientists and had access to the android itself. He has a PhD in psychology and currently lives in Canberra, Australia. This is his first book.

David Dufty is a Senior Research Officer at the Australian
Bureau of Statistics. He completed a psychology degree
with honours at the University of Newcastle and earned a PhD,
also in psychology, at Macquarie University. He was a postdoctoral
fellow at the University of Memphis, in Tennessee, at
the time the Philip K. Dick android was being developed and
worked closely with the team of scientists who created it.
