Maggie's Magical Islands charts the adventures of Maggie and her mum as they 'hop' from island to island - encountering wildlife, experiencing variable weather and dealing with a few accommodation disasters along the way! On her adventures, Maggie highlights the joy of simple outdoor pleasures, along with the importance of being environmentally aware: when we look after our world, nature provides us with the greatest treasures.

Maggie and her mum travel by ferry, campervan, foot and pushbike to explore the standing stones of Arran, the sandy beaches of Islay and Duart Castle on the Isle of Mull. Maggie goes wild swimming in the fairy pools of Skye, spends the night in a lighthouse on Lewis and is wowed by the spectacular Northern Lights.

Coo Clayton grew up in St Andrews, Fife. She studied Education at Edinburgh University and currently works as a primary teacher. Coo lives with her husband and 3 young children who all help inspire her work. She enjoys writing about family scenarios and combining these with the rich Scottish culture and landscape. Maggie's Mittens is her first picture book. Alison Soye is a Northern Irish illustrator based in Edinburgh. Her artwork is inspired by nature, travel, food and the classic story and picture books she enjoyed as a child. Alison's projects include murals, book illustrations, wedding stationery and personalised prints. If she's not pottering around Edinburgh's cafe's or gardens, she'll be painting up a storm at her desk with Radio 4 and endless cups of tea!
