This is a superb new collection of countryside articles, anecdotes, reminiscences and recipes from Scotland's favourite dog walker. There are few places in the world more glorious than the Scottish countryside. Whatever the season, there's always something of interest to observe and, more often than not, there's also a natural bounty to be harvested. In "Man with Two Dogs", Angus Whitson shares with us his countryside diary, his thoughts and reminiscences and shows us how nature can be beautiful and unsentimental, cuddly and cruel. Accompanied by his faithful friends, Macbeth, a white West Highland terrier, and his black Labrador Inka, Angus sets out each morning to see what the day will bring and records the changing seasons and moods of the countryside with the knowledge and passion of someone who loves and understands rural ways.Season by season, "Man with Two Dogs" gives us a breath of fresh air from Scotland and also presents some delicious recipes to help make the most of Scotland's natural larder. So, pull on your wellies and take a new look at Scotland's unique countryside.
Angus Whitson grew up on the east coast of Scotland and has lived most of his life in the country, never far from the sea. He started writing professionally at the age of fifty-eight as a freelance copywriter and business writer. He has ghostwritten two books and, in 2003, was asked by the Dundee Courier to write a weekly countryside diary entitled 'Man with Two Dogs'. Dogs, the outdoors and nature have been important focuses in his life and have an increasing influence on his writing. He lives in a Scottish glen with his wife, the Doyenne of the weekly articles, and Inka and Macbeth their two dogs.
