This book delves into the complex relationship between media and marginality, by critically examining the evolving discourse on inclusion, exclusion, and representation of marginalized communities. It explores the issues concerning women, gender, Dalits, Muslims, Tribals, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and communities such as the Khasi, Bifran, and other ethnic and religious minorities from a marginal perspective, enriching media scholarship with an interdisciplinary approach. Drawing insights from political science, economics, sociology, cultural studies, social psychology, women’s studies, history, and anthropology, the chapters engage with contemporary literature and debates. It features contributions from eminent academicians and scholars to help bridge theoretical frameworks with real-world media practices. The book will serve as a valuable resource for undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral research.
