During his career,'he has planned and developed Advanced Life Support Services for the Pennsylvania Department of Health; served as Affiliate Faculty at the college level for EMS training programs; authored online continuing education programs for EMTs, paramedics, and fire fighters; and served as co-coordinator for the Sarasota County Technical Institute Fire Academy. In 2000, the Florida Association of Public Information Officers, the Florida Fire Chief’s Association, and Florida’s Governor Jeb Bush honored'Deputy'Chief Brown'by naming him Fire Service PIO of the Year.'He holds associate degrees in Paramedic and Fire Science, a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management, numerous fire certifications, as well as a Florida adult-education teaching certificate.'Deputy Chief Brown'has presented at state, regional, and national conferences for a variety of public safety personnel.'
