Paul Tobin is the New York Times bestselling author of a wide range of comic books, graphic series, and works of fiction, including Bandette, illustrated by Paul’s wife, Colleen Coover, which won Eisner Awards in 2013, 2016, and 2017.
Paul’s graphic novel I Was the Cat, created with artist Benjamin Dewey, was nominated for an Eisner in 2015, and his first foray into horror, Colder, was also an Eisner nominee. Paul returned to horror this year with the breakout hit Bunny Mask, and is venturing into crime comics with A Calculated Man. His detective series Mystery Girl is currently optioned by Netflix, and his Plants vs. Zombies graphic novels have sold in the millions, and are a must-have for all school libraries.
Paul has also ventured into novels, such as Prepare To Die!, which won a starred review from Publisher’s Weekly, and The Genius Factor series for middle grade readers. The first book, How to Capture an Invisible Cat, debuted in 2016 from Bloomsbury Kids in the USA, the UK, and worldwide. The second book in the series, How To Outsmart A Billion Robot Bees, came out in 2017, and the third, How To Tame A Human Tornado, was released in 2018. Paul loves indoor climbing, eating cookies (indoor or outdoor) and—of course—riding his bike.
