"Michael was...different. His teachers said he was the worst boy in the school. He was always late and he was a little scruffy." Is there no hope for him at all? Or is it good to be different? Tony Bradman's humorous text and Tony Ross's zany illustrations make Michael the ideal picture book for all children, but particularly for children who are 'different' to their peers in some way.
Tony Ross was born in London and trained at the Liverpool School of Art. He has worked as a cartoonist, graphic designer, and art director of an advertising agency. He is now considered to be one of the finest children's illustrators in the country. Tony Bradman studied at Queen's College Cambridge, and was Editor of Parents magazine for many years before devoting himself full time to his writing. He has now written and edited nearly 200 children's books and anthologies, including his famous DILLY THE DINOSAUR series. He regularly visits schools and book groups to talk about his work. He and his wife have three children and two small grandchildren.
