From the mind of lauded artist, author, and playwright, Cynthia von Buhler, this trilogy collection of the gumshoe detective series takes the thrills and twists of pulp noir to new heights! Minky uses her sensual wiles and plucky attitude to get to the bottom of three spectacular mysteries, all involving notable figures of the era.
Collected together for the first time, these unique, lavishly designed volumes are a must for any fan of classic pulp fiction with female leads.
Includes three exclusive art cards!
THE GIRL WHO HANDCUFFED HOUDINI:
A brand new 1920's mystery thriller with a sinister twist!
Unappreciated at her father's acclaimed detective agency, the fabulous, rabbit-loving Minky Woodcock straps on her gumshoes in order to uncover a magical mystery involving noted author Arthur Conan Doyle and world-famous escape artist, Harry Houdini.
Created by acclaimed artist, author, director and playwright, Cynthia von Buhler (Speakeasy Dollhouse, Evelyn Evelyn), Minky Woodcock is a lusciously rendered 1920s mystery with a sinister twist.
THE GIRL WHO ELECTRIFIED TESLA:
Back in the detective saddle, the fabulous, rabbit-loving Minky Woodcock straps on her gumshoes and uncovers a disturbing case involving the mysterious inventor, Nikola Tesla.
Hired by business tycoon J.P. Morgan Jr, Minky sets out to investigate the validity of the claims that eccentric inventor Tesla has created a Death Ray Machine. But things take a turn when Minky befriends the gentle recluse and uncovers a plot involving Nazis who are also interested in the fabled weapon!
With twists and turns abound, the sassy and sexy detective is once again on the hunt for the truth against the backdrop of a tense and exciting 40s America.
THE GIRL CALLED CTHULHU:
Inspired by a true WWII maritime operation, shocking satanic events, monstrous men, and one salacious sea creature, this volume tells the tale of Minky's encounter with legendary horror writer H.P. Lovecraft, creator of the dreaded Cthulhu.
Following the death of Harry Houdini, Minky is approached by the occultist and writer Aleister Crowley to help vindicate him from an accusation of murder. This throws Minky into an occult underworld and leads to a much bigger investigation involving a missing man and Britain's secret service. Meanwhile, Lovecraftian horrors plague her dreams, and it's up to Minky to discover the connections between the two writers and the mysterious death of her mother. Based on an actual WWII maritime operation inspired by a detective novel, Minky discovers how writers, including Ian Fleming, helped end WWII.
