J.C. can’t wait to go and play at the park. But when Mum spots a new neighbour in need of help, she says their outing will have to wait. Can J.C. find a way to have fun and be a good neighbour? Life in the big city is full of fun for seven-year-old Jalen Corey Pierce. Between adventures with his two best friends, Amir and Vicky, and new experiences with his family, J.C. is always learning new things and exploring city life. These easy-to-read stories, featuring a glossary, discussion questions, and writing prompts, are perfect for curious young readers everywhere.
Shiane Salabie is a Jamaican born illustrator based in the Philadelphia tri-state area. When she moved to the USA, she discovered her first true love: the library. Since then, she realized she wanted to bring stories to life and she uses her art to do so. She hopes that she can illustrate many books for young children to enjoy. Dorothy H. Price loves writing stories for young readers. Her first picture book, Nana's Favorite Things, is proof of that. A 2019 winner of the We Need Diverse Books Mentorship Program, Dorothy is also an active member of the SCBWI Carolinas. She hopes all young readers know they can grow up to write stories, too.
