Five weeks after the withdrawal of the legendary ‘Rotterdam’ (V), Holland America Line introduced the ‘Rotterdam’ (VI) in November 1997. With her gross tonnage of 59.652 she was and still is a remarkable ship among all cruiseliners. From 2012 the proud flagship of the HAL is sailing year-round from Rotterdam (The Netherlands). In this number of Liners Bert Lamers describes the history of the ‘MS Rotterdam’ (VI). He also gives a description on the interior and the large art and antique collection on board. This 2nd print has been updated and has more pages and with many photos and illustrations.
Bert Lamers (1950) was interested in the shipping industry from an early age. He worked as a sailor at the Verenigde Onafhankelijke Sleepdienst (United Independent Towing Service) and was one of the editors of the maritime magazine De Blauwe Wimpel. Other than that, he also organized many group cruises.
