New media has brought constant evolution to professional journalism practices and news genres. Online news practices challenge the occupational jurisdiction of journalism with a multiplicity of conflicting and competing journalistic ideals. Yang Song received her Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong. She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Fudan University, China. Her research interests include digital literacies and identity formation.
