A fun, family friendly and interactive picture book to celebrate mums and their love for their children, written from the perspective of a child.

My mother has an invisible shield. I’ve tested it. It’s true.

No matter what her mischievous children attempt, mum is always ready and prepared. When they sneak up behind her, she always turns just in time. With ease, she thwarts an attempt to nab an afternoon snack before it's ready. They must try something cleverer. But her shield is still there, and she avoids the attempt yet again. Maybe her shield is like an astronaut suit, or like feathers, or like bubble wrap? But in moments of need, that shield always falls in time for mum to scoop them up into her arms.

This book was written inspired by the author’s own children and written as a fun activity with them. While the tricks are a bit silly, it carries an important message about family and the bond between mother and children.

R. A. Stephens is a teacher by day, writer, editor and publisher by night. She is passionate about the written word, what stories can do to take a reader to a new world and open our eyes to love, compassion, the bigger picture and much more. When not working, teaching or writing, she enjoys living in the country and spending time with her kids and cats. Jasmine Berry grew up in beautiful Albany, Western Australia. She has been drawing to impress the other kids, since she was old enough to hold a colouring pencil. But lately, she crafts these exciting and magical worlds with her computer, iPad and many coffees. She lives in Perth with her husband and with two adorable cats, and a rather large collection of succulents.
