Indigenous wisdom to transform your home into an oasis of peace and connection by Chelsey Luger, the Lakota and Anishinaabe wellness expert and co-author of The Seven Circles

Native American teachings for homekeeping are full of wellness knowledge that can transform our lives today, through heritage-honoring design, sustainable minimalism, and intentional entertaining that best reflect our values. In the modern world, people often disregard the true power of the home, ignoring its role in our self-care and healthcare, but Native teachings are uniquely positioned to reveal the home as a living, breathing structure that impacts our mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional sense of wellbeing.

Inspired by this enduring wisdom and her experience applying it in her own home, Chelsey Luger will help you transform your home into:

  • a hub for family connection and community building
  • a source of optimism and joy from the moment we wake up in the morning
  • a scene rich in stories about our heritage, ancestry, and values
  • a supportive structure for good habits of moving more, reading more, sleeping better, eating healthier, and spending more time outside.
By tapping into a wellspring of ancestral knowledge and modern Indigenous expertise, Native Home empowers you to make small changes to bring your home to life—a source of optimism and joy connected with your values, rich with intention, and set up to lead you and your family toward a thriving existence.
Chelsey Luger is a writer, wellness advocate, and an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, with lineage from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. She now lives with her young family on the Salt River Reservation in Arizona. Luger holds a B.A. in Native American Studies and History from Dartmouth College, an M.S. from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and a certificate in Indigenous Public Health from Turtle Mountain Tribal College. She is the co-founder of Well For Culture, a multimedia hub for all things Indigenous wellness, and the co-author of The Seven Circles. Her writing has appeared in The Atlantic, Huffington Post, Yes! Magazine, and other outlets.
