As naval officers transition to rewarding and challenging jobs ashore, the Naval Officer's Guide to the Pentagon offers a valuable helping hand along the journey. This practical guide advises officers of all paygrades, experience levels, and warfare communities on life and work in Washington, D.C., and in the Pentagon, in particular.

The book is a user-friendly "one-stop shop" for information, offering insights from successful officers from a variety of warfare communities who have served in the Pentagon and in Washington in a range of staff roles. Tailored to naval officers but useful to civilians interested in better understanding the demands and lifestyle of working at the Pentagon, the Naval Officer's Guide to the Pentagon will be a positive addition to the professional libraries of naval leaders past, present, and future.
RDML Fred W. Kacher, USN, is an active duty naval officer who has commanded USS Stockdale (DDG 106) and Destroyer Squadron Seven. He is the author of the Newly Commissioned Naval Officers Guide, 2nd edition in addition to numerous articles on naval leadership and management. He has also served at the White House and the Pentagon.

LCDR Douglas A. Robb, USN, is an active duty surface warfare officer whose formative seagoing assignments have been in guided missile destroyers. He has served three tours in Washington, including on Capitol Hill and on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations.
