This book is being published in conjunction with a unique exhibition project made possible through a cooperation between the Wuppertal campus of the HBK Essen, the Galerie Löhrl art gallery in Mönchengladbach, and artist Dirk Salz.
A text by professor Raimund Stecker examines the art intervention in the campus hall in Wuppertal, staged in 2023. He compellingly describes the envisioned and perceived ambiguity of supposed realities in this actualised space and the effects thereof on the audience.
The text is accompanied by views of the exhibition, sketches, and images of individual pieces featured in the exhibition, which illustrate specific aspects of transparency, reflection, and light.
Dirk Salz was born 1962 in Bochum, Germany. After High School Graduation Salz studied engineering at RWTH Aachen. From 1979 to 1981 Salz got private lessons in painting, drawing and history of art. Since then he has been continuously guided and educated by various artists. He started his own career in 2002. He has exhibited around Europe and in the USA.
