The year is 1913 and after celebrating her 18th birthday, Annie-Violet (now known as Avie) goes to a Finishing School in Switzerland, to improve her French and social skills.
She enjoys her time there and after a lucky break decides to train as a Norland Nanny. But her first posting ends abruptly after an incident in Paris. She returns to England and is happy with her new family. But then war breaks out and Avie prays for the safe return of her French friend, William.
She engages in war effort work, but then meets Charles and is torn in her loyalties…
New Horizons continues the stories following Annie-Violet.
Born in London, Maisie Stone spent her childhood in Kent. On her marriage she lived in Nairobi, Kenya, for two years with her husband and two sons. The family then lived in Sydney, Australia for three decades and on the death of her husband, she moved to Hampshire to be nearer to her son.
Maisie enjoys playing the piano and watching tennis in her leisure time
