"Most parents of preschoolers will recognize the familiar refrain that Jeanne repeats throughout the book. Callier’s writing is clear and simple, allowing Masson’s spirited pencil and watercolor cartoon illustrations to bring out the emotions of Jeanne and her mother."—School Library Journal

Jeanne loves to say "No!" Whenever her mom asks her to do anything — such as pick up her toys, turn off the TV, or get ready for dinner — Jeanne answers, "no, no, NO!" Ho wever, when Jeanne spends the night at her friend Sophie’s house, she misses her mom and decides to curb her defiant behavior.

A charming portrayal of childhood defiance, No, No, NO! stresses the normalcy of this developmental stage and encourages patience, humor, and understanding in both the child and the parent.

A Note to Parents by Elizabeth McCallum, PhD, offers more strategies for coping with normal childhood defiance.
