Old Mother Hubbard's Dog is up to no good!

Old Mother Hubbard’s mischievous pup is looking very scruffy so decides to change his look. He dresses himself up as a baby, a clown and even a burglar – getting into all kinds of trouble along the way! Whatever can she do?

This lively and humorous nonsense poem is brilliantly written by John Yeoman and illustrated exuberantly by Quentin Blake.

John Yeoman (1934–2024) was the author of many humorous stories and poems. He read English at Downing College, Cambridge and Education at London University, and taught for many years at the French Lycée in London as head of English. His first children's book, illustrated by Quentin Blake, was published in 1960 and they went on to work together on over 30 titles.

Quentin Blake was the very first Children's Laureate. One of the world's foremost illustrators, he has won numerous awards for both for his books and his services to children's literature. He is most well-known for his wonderful work with Roald Dahl. John Yeoman and Quentin Blake first collaborated on A Drink of Water in 1960 and have been working together ever since.
