A collection of studies and statistics from mines in the Oldham area.

Jack Nadin worked at North East Lancashire's last deep coal mine, the Hapton Valley Colliery, from 1964 to 1971. From a line of miners, he has a passion for anything to do with local history in his home town of Burnley, Lancashire - especially relating to the coal mining industry and industrial archaeology of the area. He is a regular contributor of local history articles to newspapers and magazines in and around Burnley and has written a number of other books and booklets on coalmining and local history.
