From Steinetz to Karpov, the twelve men who have held the title have shared a desire to succeed and a stunning ability to translate this desire into that most definitive and triumphant of moves—checkmate!
You'll discover suspenseful, one-move problems that capture an average of ten games per player in the moment just before the victory-forcing play. Presented in an easy-to-use, interactive format that includes over 100 individual diagrams, the moves are arranged in order of difficulty—from beginning to advanced.
Champions include: Smyslov, Tal, Petrosian, Spassky, Fischer, Karpov, Steinetz, Lasker, Capablanca, Alekhine, Euwe, Botvinnik
