A dark, fast-paced thriller, 'Our City of Light' is also a fascinating portrait of a city and society facing their imminent downfall.

Paris: June 1940. The German army is at the gates of a semi-deserted city and there's a dead man on the metro: expertly assassinated. Commissaire Arthur Roland and his team must race against time to unlock the mystery, always under the shadow of the still greater menace to come. The investigation leads them on a journey through the criminal and political underbelly of pre-occupation Paris, before they arrive at a stunning conclusion.

'Our City of Light' is the first in a series of novels about Commissaire Roland and his team in Paris under Nazi occupation.

G. H. Rehling is a British author of historical fiction ('The Dying of the Fire') and historical detective thrillers (The Commissaire Roland series). He is a medical doctor, and a graduate in English and American Literature. For many years he lived, part-time, in Paris. He now lives in Kent.
