A beautifully illustrated collection of three of Jill Tomlinson’s beloved animal picture books, filled with gentle humour and comfort – perfect for bedtime!

A great-value paperback collection, stories stunningly illustrated by Paul Howard:

The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Darkfollows Plop, a baby owl afraid of the dark, as he discovers the magic of nighttime adventures and meets new friends along the way.

• In The Penguin Who Wanted to Find Out, young Otto the penguin faces life’s challenges at the bottom of the world and learns the importance of caring for others.

• In The Cat Who Wanted to Go Home, curious Suzy the striped cat is carried across the Channel in a hot air balloon, embarking on a charming adventure full of humour and determination.

Perfect reading for bedtime for ages 3 and up!

Jill Tomlinson never intended to be a writer. She trained as an opera singer, and then decided to have a family whilst her voice matured. But illness intervened, and she had to find another outlet for her energies. She started on a journalism course, and by the third lesson decided she wanted to write for children. Her animal stories have been bestselling children’s books for nearly four decades.

Paul Howard has illustrated many award-winning books from authors such as Allan Ahlberg, Jeanne Willis and Michael Rosen, delighting children and reviewers across the world. Paul is probably best known as the illustrator of Jill Tomlinson’s animal stories. Paul lives with his family in Belfast.
